1. Nature of the Service
Orange Residents Directory is a privately operated reference to public rolls, record indexes, and historical directory collections connected with Orange, New Jersey. It does not host government records and is not affiliated with a government office, court, or custodian.
2. Acceptable Use
Use this service only for lawful purposes. You may not use it, or information found through it, to:
- Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm another person.
- Locate a person protected by a restraining or protective order.
- Commit fraud or identity theft.
- Make a decision regulated by FCRA, including credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions.
- Scrape, duplicate, or republish the content at scale.
- Disrupt the operation or security of the service.
3. No Consumer Reporting Status
This service is not a consumer reporting agency as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. Nothing on it, or returned by a linked search tool, is a consumer report. It may not be used to judge eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another FCRA-covered purpose.
4. Outside Services
Government portals and third-party services, including sponsored search tools, operate under their own terms and policies. We do not control their content, availability, prices, or data practices.
5. No Warranties
The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that its content is accurate, complete, or current, or that a linked portal will operate or return correct results.
6. Limits of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of this service or a linked resource, including a decision based on a record found through it.
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operators of Orange Residents Directory from a claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from misuse of the service or a violation of these terms.
8. Intellectual Property
The original text, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. You may link to a page and quote a brief excerpt with attribution. Republishing full pages or systematically copying content is not permitted.
9. Changes to Terms
We may revise these terms by posting an updated version here. Continued use after a revision means you accept it.
10. Restricting Access
We may restrict or block access for a user who violates these terms or abuses the service, at our discretion and without notice.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by New Jersey law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Public-record access referenced by the service is subject to the New Jersey Open Public Records Act, N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq., as amended by P.L. 2024, c.16, and to applicable exemptions.
12. Severability
If a provision of these terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
