Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search box is sent to the third-party provider that supplies its results. Orange Residents Directory does not retain a separate copy of those search terms. A message sent to us contains the information included in that message and is used to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Routine hosting logs can record an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. We use aggregated information to operate the service and understand general use. Cookies or comparable tools may support basic analytics and, if used, advertising measurement.
How Data Is Used
Information is used to run and improve the service, resolve technical issues, and measure general traffic. We do not sell a visitor list or create individual visitor profiles.
External Services and Links
Links can lead to Orange, Essex County, New Jersey, library, archive, and third-party search resources. The policy of the destination service controls information entered there, including information submitted through sponsored search results supplied by another company.
Service Providers and Disclosure
Hosting and support providers process server-log information on our behalf. Analytics or advertising partners can receive the automatic information described above. We disclose information when required by valid legal process and otherwise only as described here.
Security and Retention
The service uses an encrypted connection and keeps logs only for the operating purposes described above. Because Orange Residents Directory has no accounts, it does not maintain a visitor password or user profile.
Visitors Under 18
The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. Contact us if a minor has sent information, and we will remove it.
Your Privacy Choices
Depending on the facts and applicable law, a visitor can have rights to seek access, correction, or deletion of personal data a service retains. New Jersey's Data Privacy Act, P.L. 2023, c.266, is codified at N.J.S.A. 56:8-166.4 et seq. and includes definitions and exceptions for publicly available information. Because we keep very little, a request generally involves checking the contact mailbox and relevant logs. Use the Contact page to ask. Orange, Essex County, and New Jersey public records remain under their own custodians and processes.
